Why Napa servers choose us

How RBS certification works in Napa (statewide rules)

- Register in the ABC RBS Portal → pay $3 → get your 9-digit Server ID.
- Train with Certs University (enter your Server ID at signup).
- Exam unlocks within ~24 hours after training is confirmed; take the state exam (50 questions, up to 2 hours); score 70%+. The exam is open book and available in multiple languages.
- Certification is digital—no paper card. Your status lives in the RBS Portal under your Server ID. Valid for 3 years.
Timing rules you should know: You have three exam attempts within 30 days of your confirmed training. If you don’t pass in 30 days (or fail all 3 tries), you must retake training and repay the state’s $3 fee to try again. New hires have up to 60 days from first day of employment to complete the whole certification process.

What you’ll learn
Yes — RBS is a statewide requirement for on-premises servers and managers. Local rules can add requirements but don’t replace state RBS.
In the RBS Portal using your Server ID and last name.
Most people finish training in a few hours, then the exam becomes available after your provider confirms completion (within ~24 hours). You must pass within 30 days of that confirmation (up to 3 attempts, 70% to pass).
Most importantly, you can work while in progress; you have 60 days from your first day of employment to complete certification (including passing the exam).
